We are updating the Demo site to the latest revision of Veritas2. Expect some downtime during this time. I will update this post when it’s completed.
Update: update has been completed.
After updating Veritas Squared to .55, i have noticed that no login is working at this time. This should be fixed around 12 am/est tonight. This is not a software issue; it is a database issue. We’ve recently been making updates to the database, and it’s structure, so we think that this may be the root cause.
Update – Sunday, 10/17/2010: The issue related to logins is now FIXED.
First and foremost, we’d like to welcome the newest member to the Veritas2 Team: Bonnie Young.
Second, we’ve released the login information for demo.veritas2.com for people to look at. Not a lot is there, but it could give people the chance to provide us info.
Third, i’ve released a new set of Speed Tests for WebCT vs. Veritas2. That can be found here. (Link opens in new window)
That’s all for now.
As of right now, Demo.veritas2.com is not working. (Although, we haven’t really released the details to login anyway! As a side note, we will be changing this soon.) This is in relation to .50 of Veritas2 being released, and the fact that i updated the Database to work with latest SVN revision, which caused .42 to be incompatible due to SHA1 salting of the passwords. Anyways, this should be fixed soon. I’d also like to point out that i found an error with the getTeacherClasses() method, and i am working on a fix for that soon. The ticket for this can be found at: http://www.veritas2.com:8500/capstone/ticket/42. In addition, expect a new article, and page with Demo login information.
Well, that’s all for now.
(Edit: Even before this news article is published, Website has been updated to latest SVN Revision – .51. We are still having problems with logging into Veritas on one of the accounts.)
That’s right, for those of you listening, we released Version .50 to SVN a few minutes ago.. this *is* a major change to Veritas as it implements SHA1 Salting. For those of you wondering, we will release the SHA1 Algorithm design document that we wrote up while we were designing it. Well, that’s it for now.
Side note: you can see these changes in the Trac project system.
A few things really since i am on a blogging spree tonight.
That’s it for now.
Well, since it’s been a month since i last blogged, i figured i might as well do so. We are getting back into the swing of things since we kind of took a 2 month vacation from really anything Veritas (or school related), but rest assured we will be back up and running shortly. Also, we will be releasing certain parts of our Trac page to the public, so that people can see what we are doing, and maybe offer support. Though, i have to get Trac back up and going since the upgrade from 8.04 to 10.04 foobar’d the install. Well, that’s all for now.
Decided i’d better blog, and let you know that the Veritas2 project is still going.. apparently, we decided to take a month or two off from doing any work, but we will be getting back to it hardcore very soon. We hope to have enough accomplished to present in November at the CCSC (Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges).
